Dear Valued Patient,
Due to new DEA regulations, we are updating our telemedicine prescription policies for certain medications.
Key Changes (Effective Immediately):
- Same-State Requirement:
Schedule II controlled substances can only be prescribed via telemedicine if both the provider and patient are physically located in the same state during the appointment. Patients need to have been seen in person within 6 months of their last in person appointment. - Prescription Limits:
There is a new limit on how many Schedule II prescriptions can be issued via telemedicine each month. This limit should not be more than 50% of what patients are seen in person.
What This Means for You:
To comply with these regulations and continue your treatment, you may need to attend in-person appointments for certain prescriptions. Patients who are eligible for telemedicine services are being advised to either:
1. Alternate between having an in person appointment and telemedicine appointment. And continue this pattern until further notice. .
2. Or come in person for your appointments and save your telemedicine visits for unexpected events that prevent you from coming to the office.
The patient should have either the equal amount of in person visits & telemedicine visits. Or have more in person visits than telemedicine visits. When scheduling the next appointment you will be made aware if telemedicine is an option for you
